Verification
How We Verify Academies
Verification means a listing has been reviewed for basic accuracy and public display standards before it appears on OneSpotAcademy.Parents and athletes need reliable starting information when searching for sports coaching. A phone number that does not work, an address that cannot be found, or a profile that looks incomplete creates friction and distrust. OneSpotAcademy reviews academy submissions so that public listings meet a practical baseline of clarity and consistency.
Verification does not replace a family’s own visit, phone call, trial class or admission checks. It is a review step that helps listings become suitable for public discovery. Coaching quality, safety culture, coach qualifications and day-to-day experience can only be judged in person.
Our Review Process
When an academy is submitted or updated, we review key details before the listing is shown publicly. Typical checks include:
- Academy identity — name, primary sports and basic description
- Location — city, locality and address consistency
- Contact information — phone numbers and any website or maps links provided
- Category and notes — coaching level or age-group information where supplied
- Images — relevance and basic quality of uploaded photos
- Completeness — whether enough information exists for a family to make an initial enquiry
We may also look for obvious duplicates, non-sports listings, or information that appears misleading. Incomplete or low-quality submissions can be rejected or held until more details are provided.
What “Verified” Means
A verified listing has passed our review for public display. It signals that the basic profile information has been checked for consistency and usefulness. It does not mean:
- We have visited every facility in person
- We endorse the academy as the best option in its city or sport
- We guarantee coaching quality, safety standards or results
- Fees, batch timings or programme details are permanently fixed
Verification is a practical trust signal for discovery, not a substitute for due diligence by parents and athletes.
What Families Should Still Confirm
Before joining any academy, families should confirm the following points directly with the coaching centre:
- Current fees, payment terms and any refund policy
- Batch timings, age groups and skill-level placement
- Coach background and supervision arrangements
- Trial class availability and what the trial includes
- Facilities, equipment and safety practices
- Location access, parking or transport considerations
- Any medical, insurance or parental consent requirements
A short visit and a clear conversation with the academy often provide more useful information than any online profile alone.
Ongoing Updates and Corrections
Academy details change. Phone numbers, addresses, photos and programme notes can become outdated. We accept correction requests and may update listings when better information is available. Academy owners are encouraged to keep their profiles current so that families receive accurate contact and location details.
Report a Correction
If you find incorrect information on a listing, email contact@onespotacademy.com with the academy name, the page URL, the incorrect detail and the correct information. We review these reports under our Corrections Policy and update public listings where appropriate.
